Important: verified 25 July 2026

Booking a Class 5 road test for on or after October 19, 2026?

ICBC has said that from October 19, 2026 eligible Class 7 novice drivers move to a Class 5 licence through a Driving Record Assessment instead of a second road test, and that second road tests booked on or after that date will be cancelled. If you are a novice driver, this session is the right preparation while your second road test is before that date; if it is later, read our 2026 GLP changes guide first. If you are new to B.C. and ICBC has asked you to take a Class 5 road test, the change does not cancel your test; check your own appointment with ICBC.
