What this course focuses on

Hazard perception

Spot risks earlier and understand how situations are developing before they become urgent.

Space management

Build better following distance, lane space, and escape options around your vehicle.

Traffic reading

Interpret the behaviour of other drivers, pedestrians, and changing road conditions faster.

Speed and smoothness

Use braking, acceleration, and steering in a way that preserves control and time to react.

Adverse-condition judgment

Think more clearly in rain, poor light, congestion, and other messy conditions.

Collision avoidance mindset

The course is practical and on-road. It is about habits that make everyday driving calmer and safer, with only as much theory as those habits need.

Lesson flow

How the defensive driving course typically flows

First 15 minutes

Briefing and baseline drive

Your instructor sees how you currently scan, position, and manage risk before introducing corrections.

15–40 minutes

Hazard awareness work

You focus on reading traffic earlier and understanding where the danger is really developing.

40–70 minutes

Space and control

The lesson shifts into spacing, lane discipline, braking judgment, and cleaner speed management.

70–100 minutes

Real-road application

You use those habits in busier or faster conditions so they work outside of ideal practice scenarios.

Final 20 minutes

Debrief and carry-forward habits

You finish with a clear explanation of the habits to keep using after the session ends.
